Tariffs and Terms & Conditions
Basic tariff for translation orders
We charge a price per line of CHF 2.75 excl. VAT
for translations between the following language combinations:
- German – English and vice versa
- German – French and vice versa
- German – Italian and vice versa
- German – Spanish and vice versa
Basic tariff for other languages available upon request.
A “standard line” equals 52 characters, including spaces
The line count is calculated per 52 characters, including spaces, on the basis of the translated text.
Minimum tariff for very small orders
Translation orders for less than 29 lines are charged at the minimum tariff of CHF 80 excl. VAT per language and order.
Surcharge for complex specialist-subject texts
We apply a surcharge of 15 % for specialist-subject texts at a more challenging level (by experts for experts).

Basic tariffs for proofreading / editorial review / final print proofs
We charge a price of CHF 90 excl. VAT per hour of work on orders involving proofreading, editorial review, checking of final print proofs and reporting on texts.
Minimum tariff for very small orders
Editorial review orders requiring less than one hour of work are charged at the minimum tariff of CHF 90 excl. VAT per language and order.
Basic tariffs for official certifications
We charge a price of CHF 60 excl. VAT per official certification of a translation by the Notary’s Office and/or the State Chancellery. This fee also includes the official charges.

Steps to help it all go smoothly…
Delivering the text
We can deal with (almost) any file format. You can use services such as WeTransfer or Dropbox to send extremely large files that can’t be forwarded by e-mail.
Delivery deadlines
The deadline for delivery is established when the order is placed, and is then binding. You can expect to receive the completed translation within a few days, depending on the size of the order.
Express surcharge for especially urgent orders
If your order is particularly urgent, we will agree an express surcharge with you; this charge will depend on the volume and the delivery deadline.

Special tariffs for our regular customers
Switzerland offers a wide choice of translation agencies – and other agencies do good work too. It therefore pleases us all the more when you stay loyal to CLIPPER Übersetzungen Ltd over the longer term. Once you have passed a certain volume of orders, we would be happy to come to an arrangement on price with you as well.

As a regular customer, you will benefit particularly from working with the same translators, reviewers and proof-readers over time. They will be happy to develop a company and sector-specific specialist glossary for return orders. For you, this will deliver the maximum level of consistency in your copy texts, while it will also reduce the coordination effort for us – and we will naturally pass this price benefit on to you.
